Deep research on the future of Australia’s space laws. Workshops on the Regulation of Space Activities and Technologies (WRegSAT) is a multi-year, interdisciplinary research initiative designed to help modernise the legal frameworks governing Australia’s rapidly expanding space sector. The second workshop of WRegSAT Series II will take place during Australian Space Week, addressing the urgent need to evolve Australia’s legal framework to match the rapid growth of the domestic space sector. WRegSAT is a collaboration between UNSW Canberra and the Australasian Centre for Space Governance, with support from lead sponsor Gilbert + Tobin and partner universities including Adelaide University, Flinders University, RMIT and Swinburne University.

After a career of polar expeditions and a mission to space in 2025, it is without question that Eric Philips has lived a life of exploration and adventure. Inspired by early polar explorers and the Apollo moon landings, Eric has visited the North & South Poles over twenty times and pioneered four new ski new routes to the South Pole. Last year, he travelled to space as crew on board of the pioneering SpaceX Fram2 mission and became the first person to orbit the Earth under the Australian flag. This high-impact workshop draws on Eric’s experiences as a polar explorer and astronaut, and aims to inspire and motivate individuals to dream big and pursue their passions with courage and self-belief.

To enable humans to survive and thrive in space, P4S is transforming plant performance and sustainability through the development of new plant forms, products, and uses. Austronaut is dedicated to teaching the skills and knowledge that enable astronauts to be successful in space, so that individuals and teams can perform better on Earth. For the second year in a row, Austronaut and P4S are teaming up and invite you to join the “Human Performance for Space & Earth: Food & Nutrition” workshop. In this workshop participants will have the opportunity to: – Connect with experts in the fields of space, human performance, food science, nutrition and plant research. – Understand and select suitable plants for space and extreme environments. – Explore and create food solutions for space and extreme environments. – Gain practical life sciences skills through working in a laboratory environment.
