Benjamin Wannan is recognised as an Australian entrepreneur and technologist whose work spans both aerospace and cybersecurity, with a consistent focus on translating frontier technologies into commercially viable capabilities.

Ben has been a technology entrepreneur since his high school years, building and scaling ventures across cybersecurity, aerospace and advanced systems. In 2000, he co-founded DTEX, a pioneering insider risk management software company, establishing his early reputation in the cybersecurity sector. DTEX Systems raised significant funding, including a $50 million investment in 2024, led by Google.

Building on his success in cybersecurity, Ben expanded into the rapidly evolving field of drones and unmanned aerial systems, launching multiple companies that advanced autonomous and aerospace capabilities.

Today, Ben leads Egress Space, a venture focused on enabling frequent and reliable down-mass return from space. The company is developing end-to-end microgravity research and manufacturing solutions, including parabolic flight testing, precision sounding rocket payload recovery, on-demand sample return, and air-launch capabilities.
