Biography

Carlin Charteris is the Vice President Viasat APAC.
In this role, he leads Viasat technology strategy and commercial market development across the Asia-Pacific region, while working closely with partners and prospective customers in support of the ViaSat-3 satellite platform deployment. His responsibilities include oversight of the design,
construction, and integration of the ViaSat-3 Asia-Pacific ground infrastructure.
Carlin brings over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with a strong background in senior leadership, network architecture, software and hardware research and development. He has held key roles at Viasat, nbn, Vodafone, Nokia, and Telecom New Zealand.
During his tenure at Viasat, he was based in the United States, where he led global software and hardware R&D teams and was instrumental in advancing satellite network architecture, design, and integration.
He holds qualifications Electronic and Computer Engineering. He has also completed executive education programs at Stanford University Graduate School of Business and the USC Marshall School of Business.
Carlin has lived and worked internationally, with professional experience spanning New Zealand, Australia, Dubai, Ireland, and the United States.
