Eric Blood is a Senior Systems Engineer and Technical Project Lead at Fugro SpAARC in Perth, Australia, where he supports lunar spacecraft operations while helping local industry develop autonomous, robotic, and remote operations projects. His career spans safety-critical systems across space, autonomous vehicles, and resources technology. At NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, he developed and operated the Mars Science Laboratory rover for its first 100 sols and led technology reconstruction for the Low Density Supersonic Decelerator, a Mars entry technology demonstration. He later delivered hardware for the NASA Psyche spacecraft, specifically for the Deep Space Optical Communications payload. His path includes time at Planetary Resources, Waymo, and First Mode, and has brought him to Australia, where he was the Rover Systems Engineer for the AROSE Lunar Rover project.
