Professor Francis Bennet leads a research group in optical instrumentation at the Australian National University, focusing on next generation optical communication technology and its applications. He has expertise in adaptive optics for astronomical instrumentation, space situational awareness, and laser communication, with a focus on taking world leading ANU quantum communications experiments from the lab to space, including participating in the Optical to Orion communications demonstration with Artemis II.
