Ruby Jones is the CEO and co-founder of Aquila. Aquila wirelessly powers drones, robots and satellites using laser power beaming, sending light from ground based transmitters, and catching the light using specialised photovoltaic receivers.
Aquila is the global leader in power beaming, having delivered 4kWh of energy over 24 hours of fully autonomous operation to a warehouse robot, and the first high power delivery to a drone in flight.

The company has received funding from US Department of defense, and was recently selected for the US Army’s Formation Based Layered Protection experimentation program. Defence and commercial customers spanning warehouse robotics, eVTOL, and satellite operations are actively engaged across four continents.

Power is the bottleneck of the next decade. Aquila answers the growing global demand for wireless energy delivery, from powering surveillance drones, power on demand to orbit, to delivering curtailed renewables from supply, to demand.
