Biography
Dr Sarah Cannard is a space systems engineer, scientist, and project leader at Nova Systems with more than 20 years of experience across Australia’s defence and space sectors. Throughout her career, she has led and delivered nationally significant space programs, including serving as Industry Director and Project Manager for the Kanyini Earth Observation Mission through the SmartSat CRC, and as Lead Systems Engineer for the AROSE Lunar Trailblazer Program.
A recognised leader within the Australian space ecosystem, Sarah was named Female Space Leader of the Year and has been nominated for the South Australian of the Year Awards in recognition of her contributions to the sector and commitment to STEM engagement. She is a passionate advocate for sovereign Australian space capability, industry growth, and inspiring future generations to pursue careers in STEM.
