Australia chairs the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) in 2026, at a moment when the global Earth observation landscape is shifting quickly. This session asks what it takes for Earth observation to be trusted and dependable enough to drive real decisions, and why that increasingly depends on cooperation between the government and commercial sectors. No significant decision is made on a single source of EO data, so the future rests on many players working to common standards, supported by frameworks that help the users and intermediaries who turn data into impact. CSIRO will set the scene on the Chair year and the resilience and adaptation theme, Geoscience Australia will speak to the role of Analysis Ready Data, and EarthDaily will bring the commercial perspective, with trust and supply chain resilience as the connecting threads.
